Dominican Republic Grants U.S. Permission for Airspace Use
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Today, the government of the Dominican Republic has granted the United States permission to use an airbase on its territory to conduct operations described as an “attack against drug traffickers.”
This growth comes days after U.S. officials announced on Saturday, November 21, that they are prepared to launch a new phase of military operations against Venezuela in the coming days.
Some U.S. government officials also informed Axios that President Donald trump told his advisers he intends to hold direct talks with Nicolás Maduro, president of Venezuela.
These sources claimed Trump’s decision represents a significant turning point in his aggressive diplomacy toward Venezuela and may indicate that a direct military assault or intervention by the United States against Caracas is not imminent.
