U.S. Acknowledges Yemen’s Air Defense Strength as F-16s Come Under Missile Attack

The US‍ Air force has acknowledged the intense​ air defense​ attacks by Yemen during its F-16 fighter jet operations.

The US Air Force admitted that William Parks, the former commander of ‍an ⁤F-16 squadron,⁣ encountered serious difficulties during​ a mission⁤ over the Red Sea as Yemeni air defense missiles detonated⁤ close to his aircraft, according to the English section ‍of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News and Al Masirah.

After facing⁣ a barrage of Yemeni air defense missiles, ‍the ‍commander became engaged in a complex maneuver that put his life at risk.

It was ‌also reported that‌ after losing a notable amount of fuel from his fighter jet, Parks requested⁢ aerial refueling while flying over Yemeni airspace.

Previously, the US marine Corps noted ‌in a ⁤report that YemenS ⁣operations in the Red Sea offer extraordinary lessons in operational‍ innovation and unconventional tactics. Despite lacking advanced naval or⁢ air power, Yemen has successfully challenged the US naval fleet and​ imposed considerable costs on it.
