Airbus Recalls 6,000 A320 Jets Due to Technical Defect

According to the English section of webangah news Agency, citing Al Jazeera and Mehr News Agency, Airbus warned that the flight control software on approximately 6,000 A320 planes must be replaced. This announcement led many airlines around the world to suspend or cancel flights today.
Japan’s largest airline, ANA HoldingsK, reported canceling 65 flights following Airbus’s decision to recall 6,000 A320 aircraft over these control system defects.
Australia’s national carrier Jetstar also confirmed it was affected by the airbus A320 recall. A Jetstar spokesperson stated that the issue impacts all operators of the A320 family globally due to a software problem in their fleet.
The spokesperson added that some flights have been canceled as a precautionary measure following Airbus’s directive.
New Zealand airlines announced via its X (formerly Twitter) account that all its A320 planes will receive software updates before their next passenger flights. this process is expected to cause some disruptions and cancellations within its fleet.
French airlines canceled 35 flights on Friday amid this recall. Meanwhile, Colombian carrier Avianca revealed that 70% of its fleet is affected by this technical fault related to the European manufacturer’s software.
Korean Airlines reported it does not anticipate major schedule disruptions since only 17 of its aircraft are involved in the recall.
This recall affects more than half of the global Airbus A320 fleet-aircraft which form the backbone of short-haul air travel in Asia, particularly across China and India.
