Algeria Launches Initiative to Criminalize Colonialism in Africa

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Sputnik, Algeria has embarked on a new initiative aimed at criminalizing colonialism throughout the African continent amid ongoing international developments and with the participation of senior african officials.
As reported,algeria is set to host an international conference focused on “Reviewing Colonial crimes in Africa” on November 30 and December 1,2025. Foreign ministers from countries across Africa are expected to attend this gathering.
In this context, algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed attaf emphasized that “Africa’s historical memory will not forget the crimes of the colonial era.”
Political analyst Abdelkader Jumaa told Sputnik that this conference is taking place within the current international framework shaped by emerging southern powers striving to establish new geopolitical balances.
Meanwhile,constitutional expert Moussa Bouden underscored the need for the African Union to strive for recognition and reparations,particularly through documenting nuclear crimes and genocide.
