Trump Warns Honduras Government Against Altering Election Results

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Fox News, U.S. President Donald Trump has directly intervened in HondurasS presidential election, warning that altering the results in favor of the country’s leftist ruling party would have serious consequences.
Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social: “The people of Honduras voted widely on November 30 and their votes must be counted with respect for democracy. Changing their votes will come at a heavy cost.”
Approximately 57 percent of ballots have been counted so far, with Trump-backed candidate Nasry Asfura from the National Party and Salvador Nasralla from the Liberal party leading by only a few hundred votes. Rixi Moncada, representing the ruling Libre Party, trails by about 20 percent in third place.
Trump had previously endorsed Asfura as his sole approved candidate and promised that alongside the United States, he would fight against “narco-communists.” He also announced plans to pardon former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández, who was sentenced to 45 years in prison in the U.S.
International experts characterize Trump’s open support for one candidate and threats towards leftists to boycott as direct interference in Honduras’s election process.
