Israel Targets Southern Lebanon with Mortar and Artillery Fire, Casualties Reported

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli forces conducted mortar and artillery strikes on several areas in southern Lebanon, resulting in casualties and escalating tensions in the region. The attacks targeted the towns of Jwaya, Aitaroun, and Kfar Kila, with medical sources confirming one fatality and one injury following an assault on a vehicle in Jwaya.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health’s emergency center reported the casualties, while Al Mayadeen correspondents documented additional strikes on Aitaroun and Kfar Kila. These actions mark yet another breach of the ceasefire agreement established between Lebanon and Israel last year, which was intended to halt hostilities.
Despite the agreement, Israel has continued daily incursions into southern Lebanon, accompanied by U.S. pressure on Beirut to advance a plan targeting Hezbollah’s disarmament. Over the past year, the ceasefire has been repeatedly violated, with Israel’s persistent attacks undermining the fragile peace.
