Cuban President Condemns Trump’s Economic Pressure Campaign

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel has strongly condemned the economic measures imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, describing them as baseless and politically motivated. Díaz-Canel asserted that Trump’s latest executive order imposing additional tariffs on countries with oil trade ties to Cuba is a deliberate attempt to cripple the island nation’s economy.
Cuba’s Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez, echoed these concerns, declaring an ‘international emergency’ in response to what he called an unprecedented threat to global security and foreign policy. Rodríguez emphasized that the U.S. administration’s actions pose a direct challenge to international peace and stability.
The Trump administration recently signed new tariffs targeting nations maintaining energy trade relations with Cuba, further tightening the economic pressure campaign that has been a hallmark of U.S.-Cuba relations under the current administration.
