UK Prime Minister’s Communications Director Resigns Amid Epstein Scandal

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Tim Allan, the UK Prime Minister‘s Director of Communications, announced his resignation 24 hours after the resignation of chief of staff Morgan McSweeney.
Allan’s departure presents serious political challenges for the government in London. He had been in his position for five months.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer is reportedly attempting to appease angry Labour Party members and quell speculation regarding the handling of McSweeney’s connection to Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of running a sex trafficking ring in the United States.
McSweeney’s exit, a political descendant of Lord Peter Mandelson, occurred after Prime Minister Starmer admitted to considering him as London’s ambassador to the United States, despite knowing of his extensive relationship with Epstein following the financier’s imprisonment on sex trafficking charges.
Last week, the Prime Minister’s office announced a formal inquiry into Mandelson’s behavior “during his tenure” after emails surfaced indicating he had passed confidential information from the highest levels of the London government to Epstein while serving in the cabinet in 2009 and 2010.
