Russia Accuses UK of Seeking Maximum Damage, Cites Ukraine Conflict

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Alexander Gusarov, head of the North Atlantic Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated on Monday that North Atlantic countries, especially the UK and Canada, continue to increase artificial restrictions on the activities of Russian diplomatic missions.
Gusarov added that Moscow has made proposals to resume direct flights to the United States, and the ball is now in Washington’s court. He noted that normalizing cooperation with the U.S. without progress on issues of priority for Russia is proving difficult.
He emphasized that discussing real cooperation with the UK, Ireland, and Canada seems entirely out of place at this stage. Russia does not anticipate any changes in London’s confrontational policies in the near future.
Gusarov said that the efforts of Russia and the U.S. to resolve the conflict in Ukraine are constructive, while London seeks to inflict maximum damage on Russia. The confrontation between the UK and Russia has become a central approach in the UK’s state ideology.
