EU Foreign Policy Chief: Europe Must Arm Itself as Russia Shows No Interest in Peace

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s foreign policy chief, justified Brussels’ anti-Russian policies by stating that Europe intends to arm itself because, in her view, Russia harbors no ambition for peace.
Kallas further alleged that Russia is exhibiting excessive demands. She contended that if Moscow seeks a reduction in the Ukrainian military, then the Russian military must also be scaled back proportionally. She characterized this situation as a direct threat facing Europe, asserting that the response must originate from European nations.
The EU official also put forward claims suggesting that Russia should bear the costs for the damages inflicted throughout the conflict in Ukraine. She dismissed concerns that such stances are merely fueling Russian anxieties, arguing instead that Moscow’s actions necessitate a robust European response.
Kallas emphasized the necessity for increased European strength, asserting that the continent must be capable of self-defense, a process she indicated begins with the situation surrounding Ukraine.
