Clashes Erupt in Syria’s Latakia Between ‘Assad Regime’ Forces and Former Regime Elements

Reports from Syrian media indicate clashes between forces loyal to the ‘Assad regime’ and elements associated with the former Syrian government in the Jableh countryside, Latakia Governorate. This incident follows previous attacks claimed by ISIS.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Syrian media outlets have reported confrontations between forces affiliated with the ‘Assad regime’ and elements linked to the former regime of Syria in the Jableh district of Latakia Governorate. These clashes occurred in the rural areas surrounding the city.

A Syrian security source had previously stated that at least four members of the ‘Assad regime’ forces were killed and two others injured during an attack by ISIS elements against forces loyal to the ‘Assad regime’ at the Al-Sabahiyah checkpoint west of Raqqa city. The Ministry of Interior of the ‘Assad regime’ announced that this was the second attack against these forces in the region, with a previous assault occurring the day before and resulting in the death of one assailant.

Prior to these events, the terrorist organization ISIS had threatened the ‘Assad regime’ with attacks.
