Iraq Condemns Attacks on Iranian Energy Infrastructure

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement condemning the recent missile attacks on Iran’s energy infrastructure, asserting that the aggression represents a blatant violation of fundamental principles and international law. The ministry highlighted that strikes against vital infrastructure, particularly energy facilities, constitute an unjustifiable escalation of tensions that could exacerbate regional instability, jeopardize economic interests and civilian security, and negatively impact global energy markets.
The statement reiterated Iraq’s stance on the importance of self-restraint and avoiding further escalation that could lead to dangerous consequences. It also emphasized the critical need to respect state sovereignty and protect vital infrastructure. Earlier, on Wednesday, the Israeli regime, in coordination with the United States, launched a widespread missile attack against critical energy facilities in Iran. These alleged acts of terrorism resulted in damage to the South Pars gas field refineries in the Asaluyeh region in southern Iran.
