Macron Warns of Escalating Middle East Tensions, Calls for De-escalation

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, based on data published by Mehr News Agency, quoting Al-Quds Al-Arabi, French President Emmanuel Macron announced France’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its commitment to strengthening the Kingdom’s air defenses. He stated, “In the face of the risk of an uncontrollable escalation of tensions, it is more necessary than ever for all parties involved to agree to a temporary halt of attacks on energy facilities and civilian infrastructure, and for Iran to restore freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.”
Macron added, “This phase requires responsibility and restraint to create conditions for resuming dialogue, which is the only way to guarantee peace and security for all.”
The French President emphasized, “At this critical juncture, the G7 and the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council must strengthen their coordination. France and Saudi Arabia are cooperating in this regard.”
