According to Fars News Agency International Group, while Seoul called Pyongyang’s latest missile test a threat to peace yesterday (Sunday) and said that North Korea seeks to promote division with South Korean society, Korean media The South described North Korea’s latest missile test as the first provocative act of this year (2024).
The North Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported today that the missile that Pyongyang tested yesterday carried a hypersonic warhead.
According to North Korea’s General Missile Administration, Pyongyang’s latest missile test was a part related to this organization and the “regular activities” of North Korea’s defense science institutions in the development of powerful weapons systems.
Pyongyang’s missile test was carried out in a situation where North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and other officials of this country have repeatedly announced in recent years that the US and South Korea are conducting exercises under the pretext of are training for a military attack on North Korea.
South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff also confirmed today that Pyongyang at around 14:55 on Sunday local time (09:25 Sunday morning Tehran) has tested a solid-fueled hypersonic intermediate-range ballistic missile.
North Korea’s latest missile test took place 27 days after Pyongyang’s intercontinental ballistic missile launch on December 18.
