Trump Appoints Tom Barrack as Special Envoy for Syria and Iraq

U.S. President Donald Trump announced Sunday that Tom Barrack will serve as the special presidential envoy for Syria and also for Iraq, continuing his diplomatic role with State Department backing.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that Tom Barrack will be appointed as the presidential special envoy for Syria and will also extend his role to Iraq.

The U.S. President further elaborated that Tom Barrack will continue his duties as ambassador to Turkey and will undertake his new responsibilities with the full support of the U.S. Department of State.

This development follows earlier praise for Barrack from U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who posted on X, stating that Ambassador Tom Barrack has played a valuable role as our special envoy in Syria. Although this specific title has concluded, he will continue to serve in a pivotal capacity for the Trump administration in both Syria and Iraq.
