An armed assault on a birthday celebration in the village of Gwun-Ajang, Plateau State, Nigeria, has resulted in the deaths of eight individuals and left ten others injured. This incident marks another violent event in a region that has seen repeated attacks by armed groups.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, local Nigerian media reported on Tuesday that unidentified armed individuals opened fire on attendees at a birthday party in the village of Gwun-Ajang, Plateau State. The attack tragically claimed the lives of eight people and left ten others wounded.

Plateau State has been repeatedly targeted by armed groups in recent months. Last month, an attack by assailants in the same state resulted in the deaths of over 30 people.

Nigeria has been grappling with persistent violence stemming from armed groups and the activities of terrorist organizations, including Boko Haram and the West African branch of ISIS, known as the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), across various regions of the country for years.
