Hamas Spokesperson Reports Progress in Cairo Ceasefire Talks, Blames Israel for Delays

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hazem Qassem, spokesperson for the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), stated in remarks regarding the latest situation of negotiations in Cairo that Palestinian groups and mediators have achieved tangible results.
He added that Palestinian groups and mediators, in the current round of discussions in Cairo, have reached acceptable approaches concerning the complex and disputed issues within the ceasefire agreement.
Emphasizing responsibility towards the Palestinian people, the Hamas spokesperson asserted that Palestinian groups, based on their national duty to halt the genocide in Gaza, have engaged with the mediators’ proposals and approaches with flexibility and a positive outlook.
Hazem Qassem then shifted the onus to the opposing side, specifying that the ball is now in the court of the occupation forces and the Peace Council to commence the actual and complete implementation of the Trump initiative for peace in Gaza.
He concluded by noting that the transition to the second phase of the ceasefire agreement is contingent upon the ability of the mediators, guarantor countries, and the Peace Council to compel Israel to cease its violations and accept the approaches that have been agreed upon in this round of talks.
