Trump Urges Netanyahu to Halt Hezbollah Strikes Amidst Iran Deal Talks, Fox News Reports
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Fox News has reported on a crucial conversation between then-President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, during which Trump reportedly inquired about recent Israeli actions against Hezbollah in Beirut. Trump allegedly stated that a deal with Iran was on the verge of being signed within the next two to three hours. He then questioned Netanyahu about the Israeli strikes that had occurred hours earlier against Hezbollah in the Lebanese capital.
Fox News, described as a media outlet close to Republicans in the United States that justifies their rhetoric and provocations, added that Trump told Netanyahu, “What are you doing?!” and requested that Israel refrain from further attacks on Hezbollah to prevent disruption of the agreement between Tehran and Washington.
The report further indicated that Israel is now preparing for the possibility of ballistic missile launches from Iran. Trump was quoted as telling Fox News that he would ask Iran not to fire missiles towards Israel in retaliation for cease-fire violations and continued aggressions by the Zionist occupiers against Lebanon, as the prospects of signing the deal were viable for that evening. These discussions are reportedly tied to the ongoing final stages of negotiations for an agreement. President Trump had spoken about the attacks mid-week (local time).
This development comes as Trump is reportedly seeking to achieve a diplomatic success, potentially to overshadow domestic and foreign policy challenges, by portraying an imminent deal with Iran and urging Netanyahu not to obstruct it.
