Rosatom Prioritizes Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant Amidst Challenges

Russia’s state atomic energy corporation, Rosatom, has affirmed that the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in Iran remains a top priority. Despite ongoing challenges, including budgetary issues, the company is committed to continuing its work at the facility.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia’s state atomic energy corporation, Rosatom, has declared the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in Iran a top priority. Alexey Likhachev, Director General of Rosatom, stated on Wednesday that the company will continue its operations at the facility despite facing various challenges.

Speaking to reporters at the Russia-ASEAN summit in Kazan, Likhachev emphasized that the Bushehr plant has not been removed from their list of priorities. He confirmed that work is ongoing in materials science and machinery centers, and that despite difficulties, including budget-related issues, progress has not ceased.

Likhachev further elaborated on the status of the Bushehr project, stating, “Bushehr is our priority, and we will continue to work on it. As soon as we determine that the risk of attacks has subsided and there is no threat to the lives and health of our personnel, we will begin a phased return to the site.” He confirmed that preparations are underway and that such plans have been developed and agreed upon with the country’s leadership.
