Hezbollah Accuses Lebanese Army Chief of Seeking Civil War, Dismisses Maritime Deal

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Lebanese politician Nawaf Al-Musawi, a senior member of Hezbollah and former Member of Parliament, stated that Lebanese Army Commander Joseph Aoun is the one who desires a civil war in Lebanon. Al-Musawi alleged that Aoun is pressuring Army Commander Rudolphe Helal to resign, a move the latter is reportedly refusing.

Al-Musawi reassured the Lebanese people regarding the framework agreement signed in Washington between representatives of the Lebanese government and the Israeli regime, asserting that it is worthless and not a cause for concern.

Meanwhile, Israel’s Channel 12 television, citing informed sources, reported that the Lebanese government has officially requested Washington not to publish the “security annex” of the framework agreement with the Israeli regime. Analysts believe this request for secrecy is a testament to the ignominious nature of these annexes, which likely contain clauses contrary to Lebanon’s national sovereignty and acceptance of security conditions imposed by the occupiers.

Concurrently with the announcement of this agreement’s signing, the capital city of Beirut witnessed protests against the deal. Protesters deemed the agreement disgraceful and a betrayal of Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
