The second part will be a magnificent public procession commencing at 6 AM on Wednesday from the Sadar Hospital Bridge on Airport Street. The march will proceed through the old city of Najaf towards the shrine of Amir al-Mu’minin (peace be upon him).
Kanawi highlighted a coordination meeting held with a delegation from the office of the Iraqi Prime Minister, the Joint Operations Command, Hashd al-Shaabi, and the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to meticulously review the ceremony’s details. He emphasized Najaf al-Ashraf’s full readiness to host this historic event.
In related developments, Haider Kaboon, Director of Ceremonies and Million-Participant Visits at the Najaf Governorate, informed the WAA news agency that Husseiniya convoy organizers (Mawkibs) have declared their complete readiness to welcome mourners and participants from within and outside Iraq. Kaboon stated that a special committee for the ceremony has convened to review service measures and organize the event. Over 60 Husseiniya convoys have registered to serve the attendees, with expectations that this number will exceed 100. These convoys will be stationed along the procession route to provide services to the vast crowds.
Several Iraqi provinces have declared the specified days as public holidays in observance of the Iranian “martyred leader’s” funeral. The remains of the Iranian “martyred leader” are slated to be escorted in Najaf al-Ashraf and Karbala al-Mu’alla on Wednesday, June 8.
