GCC Foreign Ministers Engage in Intense Consultations Amid Regional Tensions
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, following Iran’s recent actions and the subsequent escalation of regional developments, foreign ministers of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have engaged in a series of intensive phone calls. These diplomatic efforts are aimed at de-escalating tensions and mitigating their repercussions.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that its Foreign Minister, Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, received a phone call from Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar. The two ministers discussed the latest regional developments, particularly the ongoing escalation and its consequences. They also reviewed current efforts to reduce tension and promote diplomatic solutions to maintain regional security and stability.
Similarly, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, received a call from his Qatari counterpart. During their conversation, the two discussed recent regional developments and ongoing efforts to restore security and stability. Both emphasized the importance of continued coordination and joint action to reduce tensions and mitigate the negative impacts of the crisis on both regional and international levels.
Furthermore, Kuwait’s Foreign Minister also held a phone conversation with Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates. The discussion focused on the latest regional developments, including the current tensions and their implications, as well as diplomatic initiatives to de-escalate the situation. Both sides underscored the importance of strengthening political solutions to support regional security and stability.
The UAE Minister stated during the call that the security of Kuwait and Bahrain is an inseparable part of the security of the UAE and the other Persian Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
