Lavrov: Western Indo-Pacific Strategy Targets Russia and China Containment

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that Moscow and Beijing are opposed to the policy of double standards and the imposition of unilateral sanctions. Russia’s top diplomat also described China’s position on Ukraine as “balanced” and expressed appreciation for Beijing’s stance.
Lavrov highlighted the bilateral cooperation between Russia and China, stating that they have transformed the Shanghai Cooperation Organization into a pillar of Eurasian security structures. He further elaborated that the security architecture in the Asia-Pacific region should be centered around the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Concluding his remarks, the Russian Foreign Minister reiterated his assertion that Western projects in the Indo-Pacific are deliberately designed to contain Russia and China.
