Lavrov: US Attacks on Iran Clearly Violate Memorandum of Understanding

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that renewed American attacks against Iran represent a blatant violation of a memorandum of understanding, expressing disappointment with current developments.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has declared that the resumption of American attacks on Iran constitutes a clear violation of a memorandum of understanding between the two nations. Speaking on the matter, Lavrov expressed that current events are disappointing and will not lead to positive outcomes.

Lavrov further characterized the actions of the Kyiv regime in the Sea of Azov, Black Sea, and on the African continent as outright terrorism, moving beyond mere piracy. He noted that the TurkStream gas pipeline has been a persistent target of Ukrainian assaults.

The Russian Foreign Minister also conveyed hope that Turkey would publicly present its assessment of the Ukraine situation and its related events, sending a decisive and transparent message to what he termed the “terrorist regime in Kyiv.” He added that Europe and Ukraine had exerted significant efforts to dissuade the United States from agreements and understandings reached in Alaska.

President Putin has repeatedly emphasized his support for the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States, Lavrov reiterated, stating, “We had hoped that the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States would be implemented in practice.” He concluded by emphasizing that the ongoing actions against Iran are closing the doors to the implementation of the US-Iran memorandum of understanding.
