Qatar Sends Letters to UN and Security Council Alleging Iranian Attacks

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Qatar‘s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it has sent two identical letters to the United Nations Secretary-General and the Security Council concerning alleged attacks by Iran on Qatari territory.

The letters claim that Iran targeted the Qatari oil tanker ‘Al-Rikiya’ on July 7, 2026, as it passed near the Strait of Hormuz. Additionally, Doha cited a purported missile attack on July 12, 2026, asserting that the country was subjected to a missile assault.

The Qatari authorities stated in the correspondence that Qatar’s armed forces successfully intercepted and countered several ballistic missiles. The Ministry of Interior confirmed that three individuals, including a child, sustained injuries from shrapnel resulting from the interception operations.

The Qatari government attributed these alleged attacks to Iran, condemning them as a direct threat to Qatar’s security and regional and international stability. Doha further asserted in the letters that Qatar holds Iran legally responsible for these attacks and all resulting damages and consequences.
