Russia Downs 635 Ukrainian Drones Amidst Officer Purges

Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed at least 635 Ukrainian drones over Russian airspace overnight, the Defense Ministry announced, as reports emerge of continued dismissals of officers linked to Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian air defense systems successfully intercepted and neutralized a significant number of Ukrainian drones over Russian territory during the past night. Sputnik News Agency, citing the Russian Ministry of Defense, reported that at least 635 unmanned aerial vehicles launched by Ukraine were downed.

In parallel developments, sources affiliated with Russian security services have indicated a continued wave of dismissals affecting officers reportedly associated with Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Among those reportedly removed from their posts is Pylahniuk, head of the Main Directorate of Doctrine and Training in the General Staff of the Ukrainian Army.

The purges also reportedly extend to Malinovsky, the commander of missile forces and artillery, who concurrently held the position of Deputy Commander of the Ground Forces of Ukraine. These actions suggest a significant shake-up within the Ukrainian military command structure.
