Turkish F-16 Fighter Jet Crashes During Training Flight in Yalova
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Turkish Ministry of National Defense announced the crash of an F-16 fighter jet during a training flight in the northwestern province of Yalova. The ministry confirmed that the pilot ejected safely via parachute.
In a statement, the ministry said, “One of our F-16 model fighter jets crashed during a training flight in Yalova, and our pilot safely ejected from the aircraft. The cause of the incident will be determined after a thorough investigation. This information is being released for public awareness.”
The crash reportedly took place near the eighth main airbase in the town of Tashkoy, within the Ciftlikkoy district of Yalova province, with the aircraft plunging into the sea. Following the crash, flames and plumes of black smoke were visible from various surrounding locations.
Emergency response teams, firefighters, and security forces were immediately dispatched to the scene. Ahmet Hamdi Usta, the Governor of Yalova, also visited the crash site. Investigations into the cause of the fighter jet’s downfall have commenced.
