Pakistan Official Claims Ongoing Talks for Strait of Hormuz Reopening

A Pakistani government official has stated that negotiations continue regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital chokepoint for global oil transit, amidst ongoing tensions. Meanwhile, Iran has denied any 60-day deadline influencing its national policies.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a Pakistani government official informed MS NOW that discussions are continuing concerning the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, through which approximately one-fifth of the world’s oil passes. The official also indicated that efforts are underway to achieve a peaceful resolution to the current conflict, described as U.S. provocations against Iran and the destabilization of the region.

The White House, when questioned about the possibility of a ceasefire extension, directed MS NOW to statements made by President Donald Trump on Monday during an interview with Fox News.

Ismail Bakhaii, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Monday refuted the existence of any 60-day deadline within the framework of an agreement reached in Islamabad. He emphasized that Iran does not adjust its policies under pressure or within specific timeframes, stating that decisions are made based on national interests.
