US Navy Sailor Faces Disciplinary Action After Abraham Lincoln Aircraft Carrier Incident

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, MS NOW network has reported that a U.S. Navy sailor who allegedly jumped into the sea from the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier in early August is now facing disciplinary action. His spouse had previously described the incident as an attempt at suicide.

The report indicates the sailor is subject to non-judicial punishment under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, facing charges of violating Article 83, which pertains to faking injury or self-harm to evade work, duty, or service. He has also been charged with violating Article 86, related to unauthorized absence.

Citing the sailor’s wife, whose identity has not been disclosed, the network stated that the sailor required psychological help rather than punishment. She added, “I think they are crazy for treating people who need psychological help this way.”.

The network further reported that a meeting with the commanding officer may be held regarding the sailor’s punishment.

It is noteworthy that recent incidents involving several crew members of the mentioned carrier attempting suicide amidst the ship’s dire conditions had previously stirred controversy.
