Trump Repeats Claims on Iran, Strait of Hormuz and Russia

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump, in a bid to garner votes in the upcoming midterm elections, repeated his previous claims about Iran’s struggles, stating that the country is in a difficult predicament and cannot pay its soldiers.

While American experts and media acknowledge that Washington lacks the capacity to resume conflict with Tehran, the U.S. President asserted that actions taken against Iran do not mean the military option has been disregarded.

Trump, who has repeatedly called for direct negotiations with Tehran, stated, “We do not want to speak with Iran and are not seeking a meeting with them.”

Despite maritime professional bodies confirming that traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has been significantly restricted, the U.S. President claimed, “The Strait of Hormuz is open, and we have completely cleared it of mines.”

In another part of his remarks, Trump defended Russia, stating that Russian President Vladimir Putin would not attack NATO territory.

He also claimed that Russia has acted very well concerning the Strait of Hormuz.

In a separate move, contrary to international practice, the U.S. President signed an executive order renaming Lake Ontario, a lake shared with Canada, to “America Lake.”

Trump stated, “Canada is the worst country we trade with, and we will impose heavy tariffs on its vehicles.”
