Trump Administration Purges Critics Within U.S. Intelligence Agencies

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a new “top-secret” report reveals an intensified effort to weaken the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) in the United States. Diplomatic sources have informed Al Mayadeen network about this development.

The report, prepared by the House Committees on Homeland Security and National Security, details the dismissal of a considerable number of managers and experts from the ODNI. These individuals include specialists focusing on Russia, China, and the European Union.

Diplomatic sources also suggest the potential dismissal of approximately 400 additional employees from the ODNI. This action could extend to personnel at the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center.

These personnel changes are reportedly accompanied by alterations to intelligence reports and analyses concerning the conflict with Iran. These shifts align with the directives of U.S. President Donald Trump.

This wave of changes follows a previous reduction in ODNI staff during the tenure of Tulsi Gabbard, when the workforce decreased from approximately 2,000 to around 1,300 individuals.

Opponents of the Trump administration within Congress assert that these personnel decisions are aimed at sidelining critics of the President, particularly those holding differing views on U.S. policy toward Russia and Iran.

Diplomatic sources have stressed that the continuation of these trends could negatively impact the analytical and intelligence capabilities of the ODNI and its ability to provide accurate assessments to the White House.
