Trump Reiterates Claims on Iran’s Nuclear Program, Warns of Regional Destruction
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Donald Trump, in an interview with Fox News, reiterated his strong and challenging claims about Iran’s nuclear program. Trump alleged that Tehran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons could result in the complete destruction of the region and directly threaten the security of the United States and Europe.
Trump claimed that Iran has set its sights on Persian Gulf countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Kuwait. He further elaborated on the potential dangers of nuclear weapons, stating, “If Iran had nuclear weapons, almost the entire Middle East would be destroyed, and Israel would definitely be annihilated.”
He also alleged that if Iran achieved nuclear capabilities, the United States, Europe, or other parts of the world would be its next targets.
Trump emphasized, “We cannot allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons,” and stressed that the United States should have intervened in the Middle East to prevent Iran from using such weapons against Israel, regional countries, and the U.S. itself.
Claim on Hormuz Strait Control and Mine Clearance
In another part of the interview, addressing maritime tensions, Trump claimed that the United States would gain control of the Strait of Hormuz by containing Iran. He stated, “As soon as we win the war, we will have almost complete control over the Strait of Hormuz.”
He further asserted control over shipping routes, declaring, “Although Iran can be a nuisance, we have control of the Strait of Hormuz, and we have cleared all mines from this route. We did this with very limited help from other countries.”
Criticism of Allies and Military Costs
Trump criticized the approach of some U.S. allies, including NATO members and South Korea, stating, “We spend billions of dollars helping NATO and countries like South Korea, but when we asked for help, they refused to respond.”
He emphasized that the United States cannot continue to support such allies.
