Mortar Attack Kills Two in Syria’s Sweida

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, local sources in Syria have reported that a mortar attack targeting agricultural areas in the western axis of Sweida city has resulted in the deaths of at least two individuals and left several others wounded. The attack underscores the persistent insecurity plaguing the region.
This incident follows closely on the heels of reports from two days prior, detailing armed clashes between various groups within Sweida city, located in the southern part of the country. These previous confrontations had instilled fear and panic among the local population.
It is noteworthy that since the declaration of a ceasefire in the area, numerous attacks, particularly along the northern and western fronts, have occurred repeatedly. The province of Sweida has been experiencing security tensions and instability since the outbreak of widespread conflict in July 2025.
