Russia Seeks Resumption of Flights to Cuba, Citing Fuel Supply as Key Factor

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia‘s Transport Minister Andrey Nikitin has expressed Moscow’s desire to resume flights to Havana. In an interview with RIA Novosti, Nikitin indicated that Russia is prepared to restart aviation services once the fuel situation in Cuba stabilizes.

The Russian official emphasized that the most significant impediment to reinstating flights between Moscow and Havana is the current state of fuel provisioning in Cuba. He pointed to actions by the United States, which he described as a violation of international law, as hindering the delivery of oil and fuel to Cuba.

Nikitin further commented on the geopolitical context, suggesting that U.S. President Donald Trump views the Western Hemisphere as an exclusive sphere of influence. Trump, according to this perspective, expects unconditional adherence to White House policies from Latin American nations.
