Europe Aligns with US on Iran Pressure, Vows Continued Sanctions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the European Union announced on Monday its commitment to continue working with the United States and other G7 and international partners to sustain pressure on Iran, as a G20 meeting commenced this week. This statement comes amid rising global tensions and maritime security concerns.
The European Union asserted that it supports efforts aimed at halting what it described as Iran’s “destabilizing activities” and fostering good-faith peace negotiations. The bloc also indicated its approval of increased economic pressure, including through U.S.-led economic operations. The EU stated it would pursue close cooperation with the United States and other G7 and international partners to maintain pressure on Iran, contributing to de-escalation and regional stability.
These assertions emerge at a time when the European Union has not been immune to the consequences of escalating tensions and the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz. The EU’s stance notably omits any reference to U.S. aggressions against Iran.
