Amal Movement Office in Iran Issues Statement on Imam Musa Sadr Abduction Anniversary

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the office of the Amal Movement of Lebanon in Iran has issued a statement on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the abduction of Imam Musa Sadr. The statement highlights that as the people of Lebanon and Palestine continue to face attacks and crimes by the Israeli regime, and Iran has also been targeted by the regime’s aggressions in recent months, the significance of Imam Musa Sadr’s warnings and stances regarding Israel becomes evident once again. From his early years in Lebanon, he recognized Israeli aggression as a threat to the people of Lebanon and the region, advocating for a response that extended beyond military resistance to encompass the necessity of building a resilient society across political, social, cultural, and economic spheres.

Forty-eight years have now passed since the abduction of Imam Musa Sadr and his two companions. In this period, the absence of a man who was both a standard-bearer of resistance and an advocate for dialogue, coexistence, and human dignity has been increasingly felt. The events unfolding today in Lebanon, Palestine, and the region serve as a stark reminder of the necessity of his thought and presence more than ever before. The case of Imam Musa Sadr’s abduction and that of his two companions remains open, and pursuing the truth about their fate and their return is a responsibility that must not be forgotten.
