Trump Criticizes Spain’s Immigration Policy, Recalling Past Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, has made interventionist remarks concerning Spain’s domestic policies. Trump stated, “What is happening in Spain is very sad because this country has no control over its borders.”

Spain was among a few European nations that refused to cooperate with military operations against Tehran during U.S. and Israeli regime actions targeting Iran. The government of Pedro Sánchez condemned the attacks, characterizing them as actions outside the framework of international law. They announced that joint U.S.-Spanish military bases in Rota and Morón would not be made available to U.S. forces for operations against Iran. Following this decision, several American aircraft were withdrawn from these bases.

Madrid’s stance led to an unprecedented divergence with Washington. The Spanish government emphasized that bilateral agreements regarding military bases did not permit their use for offensive operations against Iran. Spain also underscored the importance of a diplomatic solution and adherence to the United Nations Charter, demonstrating resistance to U.S. pressure for greater involvement in the conflict. This position highlighted a rift among European NATO members regarding the approach to the Iran conflict and intensified tensions between Madrid and Washington.
