Iraqi Parliament Member Authorizes Targeting US Forces Post-September 30 Deadline

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraqi parliamentary commission member for security and defense, Ahmed Rahim Al-Moussawi, stated that resistance forces are justified in targeting American elements remaining in Iraq after the specified deadline of September 30.
Al-Moussawi elaborated that the presence of American military personnel in Iraq after September 30 will be considered illegal and illegitimate, thereby granting resistance groups the right to target them throughout Iraq.
The Iraqi official emphasized that the United States’ commitment to the agreement signed with Baghdad and its withdrawal from Iraq will ensure the sustainability of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
He further noted that the Iraqi government has requested American forces to depart the country, asserting that the security situation in Iraq is under the control of internal forces. Al-Moussawi indicated that the initial phase of the US troop withdrawal will encompass all Iraqi territories except the Kurdistan Region, with their departure from the region to follow after one year.
