Oil Prices Surge After Saudi Arabia Confirms Attack on Energy Facilities

Global oil prices climbed significantly on Tuesday following Saudi Arabia’s confirmation that its southern energy facilities were targeted in an attack, causing fires and disrupting operations.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, oil prices rose today Tuesday after the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Energy admitted that the country’s facilities in the southern region were targeted. At 9:25 AM Moscow time, West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures for October delivery increased by 2.48 percent to $93.75 per barrel. Brent crude oil futures for November delivery also saw a rise of 1.44 percent, reaching $98.40 per barrel. Earlier, the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Energy acknowledged that several of the kingdom’s energy facilities in the southern region were attacked this morning. The ministry further stated that the attacks led to fires in several areas and the cessation of some activities.
