Saudi Arabia Confirms Attacks on Southern Energy Facilities
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Saudi Arabia‘s Ministry of Energy has admitted that a number of its energy facilities in the southern part of the country were targeted this morning. The ministry stated that the aforementioned attacks resulted in fires in several areas and the temporary suspension of some activities.
Concurrently, the price of Brent crude oil surged to $98 per barrel. Earlier today, Al Masirah network reported hearing explosion sounds in several southern Saudi regions, specifically mentioning areas in Abha and Khamis Mushait in the Asir region, as well as parts of Jizan.
No official source has yet identified the origin of these explosions. However, some unofficial media outlets have reported that Yemeni armed forces attacked Aramco’s oil facilities in these areas. If confirmed, this would be the second attack on these regions within the past several hours.
