Kremlin Offers Mediation in Iran-UAE Disputes, Cites Regional Stability Concerns

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russia is ready to play a mediating role in resolving differences between Iran and the United Arab Emirates if necessary, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced. Data published by Mehr News Agency, citing TASS, reported Peskov’s remarks.

Speaking at a press conference with Indian media prior to the BRICS summit in New Delhi, Peskov acknowledged Moscow’s awareness of disagreements between Tehran and Abu Dhabi and their impact on bilateral relations. He expressed hope that both nations, considered close friends of Moscow, would navigate this sensitive period.

Peskov underscored Russia’s fundamental opposition to any aggressive actions in the region, consistently advocating for enhanced security, mutual trust, and collaboration among regional countries.

He also commented on the impact of regional tensions on BRICS activities, noting that the current situation complicates the process of developing joint documents, particularly the summit’s final communiqué. However, he conveyed confidence that Russian and Indian diplomats could achieve balanced and mutually acceptable formulations.
