Putin Praises Ethiopia’s Constructive Role in BRICS
Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the Prime Minister of Ethiopia on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in India, highlighting Ethiopia’s constructive role within the bloc and discussing economic cooperation. Putin noted a stable growth in bilateral trade, which has more than tripled by the end of 2025.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the Prime Minister of Ethiopia on Saturday on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in India. The two leaders discussed economic cooperation between their countries.
During the meeting, the Russian President stated that stable growth has been observed in bilateral trade, with the volume of trade exchanges more than tripling by the end of 2025 and continuing to rise. He described this trend as a positive sign.
Vladimir Putin further added that Ethiopia plays a constructive role in BRICS activities. He also extended an invitation to the Prime Minister of Ethiopia to attend the Russia-Africa summit in Moscow in October.
