CNN Reports Widespread Corruption and Internal Disputes Among Saudi-Backed Yemen Mercenaries

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, CNN, citing a Western source, has reported that the roster of Yemeni military personnel affiliated with the Riyadh-backed government is heavily inflated with fictitious names intended for monthly salary collection. The network’s investigation indicates that only approximately 20 percent of these registered individuals are actually present on the battlefield.

This situation is attributed to years of administrative corruption among the forces supported by Saudi Arabia. Amr Al-Baydh, a prominent official within Yemen’s Southern Transitional Council, stated that a clear strategy was absent and that mismanagement was evident.

Mohamed Al-Basha, a former advisor to the United States government, commented that internal disputes among leaders of the factions opposing the Ansarallah movement in Yemen have compromised defensive lines. He further noted a lack of political solidarity within the Saudi-led coalition against Ansarallah, with no unified command structure in place.

CNN also reported that the advance of Ansarallah forces towards Bareem Island at the entrance to the Red Sea on Friday effectively placed control of the Bab al-Mandab Strait in their hands.
