Poland’s Foreign Minister Claims Swift Victory Over Russia in Hypothetical Attack

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski expressed his belief that Poland would swiftly defeat Russia in the event of an attack. Speaking in an interview with Reuters Television, Sikorski asserted that Poland possesses a decisive advantage in air power. He further suggested that if Ukraine could disable half of Russia’s refinery capacity in six months, Poland could achieve the same in just six weeks and destroy the remainder.

Sikorski also commented on Ukrainian President Zelenskyy’s decision to name a military unit after the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), describing it as regrettable due to the UPA’s role in an ethnic cleansing campaign that resulted in tens of thousands of deaths. He lamented the absence of a unified European defense system and its unlikelihood in the near future due to constitutional constraints.

The Polish Foreign Minister observed that China is increasingly dominating the Russian market, rendering Russia a subordinate partner. He hypothesized that a Russian nationalist would be terrified by this situation. Sikorski pointed out that the Baltic Sea Council’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) exceeds that of Russia, and its peacetime defense budget is larger than Russia’s wartime budget, concluding that Russia has no hope of victory against them.

He urged NATO to conduct offensive exercises to deter Russian President Vladimir Putin, compelling him to redeploy forces from the Ukrainian front. Sikorski suggested that Putin likely believed he could restore Russia to superpower status following the collapse of the Soviet Union, but now appears to recognize this as unattainable.
