Putin Votes Online in Russian Duma Elections Amidst Oversight

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin cast his vote online in the Duma elections, as reported by RIA Novosti via the Mehr News Agency.

The Russian President participated in the ninth round of parliamentary elections for Russia remotely on the first day of voting. Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia and leader of the United Russia party, also cast his ballot at a polling station.

Medvedev emphasized that every citizen who participates in the elections brings Russia closer to victory over its adversaries. Meanwhile, the head of Russia’s Central Election Commission stated that attempts to disrupt the elections will not impede the free expression of the Russian people’s will and that the voting process is proceeding as scheduled despite these efforts.

He added that 1126 international observers from 133 countries and 13 international organizations are present to monitor the elections in Russia. According to data from the remote electronic voting portal, over one million voters have already cast their ballots online in the ninth round of the Russian State Duma elections. These elections are scheduled to continue for three days, concluding on September 20th.
