Iraqi Lawmaker: No Foreign Military Forces Will Remain in Country Post-September 30

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iraqi Member of Parliament Abbas Al-Malki has emphasized that the country will not allow any foreign military forces to remain within its borders after the established deadline of September 30. Al-Malki stated that the upcoming phase is dedicated to completing the process of ending the foreign military presence in Iraq and asserting full sovereignty over the entire territory of the nation.

He further elaborated that Iraq’s security forces are capable of managing the country’s affairs and protecting its borders and stability without the need for external support. Al-Malki added that the Iraqi parliament is closely monitoring the adherence of relevant parties to the timeline for troop withdrawal from the country.

Previously, informed sources had reported the movement of a large convoy of American soldiers from the Harir base near Erbil towards the southern regions of the country, with speculation about their potential deployment to bases in Kuwait.
