Russia Reacts to New US Sanctions, Citing Negative Impact on Ukraine Resolution

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for the Russian Presidency, announced that new sanctions legislation passed by the United States against Moscow will not foster positive relations. Speaking in response to the impact of the law, signed by President Trump, on prospects for resolving the Ukraine war and advancing bilateral ties, Peskov stated that the process would yield no positive effect.

President Trump recently signed legislation authorizing further sanctions against Russia. This new law mandates a 100% increase in customs duties on goods imported from five major purchasers of Russian oil and gas. Additionally, customs duties will be raised by 500% on goods imported from Russia into the United States.
