Hamas Denounces Netanyahu’s UN Speech as Filled With Lies
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, The Islamic Resistance Movement of Palestine (Hamas) has issued a strong condemnation of the address delivered by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the United Nations General Assembly. Hamas described the speech as “hollow, filled with lies, and baseless slogans,” asserting that Netanyahu’s statements revealed the profound crisis confronting his regime. The movement emphasized that the blatant falsehoods disseminated by Netanyahu are no longer concealed from global audiences, as the reality of the Israeli regime’s actions—characterized by war, starvation, and thirst against the people of Gaza—has become evident worldwide. These actions, Hamas noted, have resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of children, women, and the elderly, and have devastated the infrastructure essential for the survival of over two million residents in the Gaza Strip.
Hamas specifically refuted Netanyahu’s claim that the Israeli army is the “most moral army in the world,” stating that this assertion stands in stark contrast to the global observation of mass killings, warfare, starvation, dehydration, and the slaughter of defenseless civilians. The movement highlighted that reports from independent United Nations committees and bodies have classified the actions in Gaza as war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide. Therefore, Hamas stated, Netanyahu’s narrative regarding the conflict in Gaza and his denial of “organized genocide” are directly contradicted by UN reports and the ground realities in the region.
Furthermore, the statement pointed out that Netanyahu’s remarks are inconsistent with admissions from some Israeli military personnel and officers, as well as statements from several Israeli ministers and leaders regarding the killing and displacement of Palestinians. Hamas also interpreted the significant number of delegations from various countries that walked out of the General Assembly hall during Netanyahu’s speech as a clear indication of his and the Israeli regime’s “international isolation.” This action, Hamas added, signifies a growing global awareness of the Palestinian situation and an expanding solidarity with the Palestinian people.
The movement issued a warning regarding Israeli schemes in the West Bank and condemned Netanyahu’s statements that deny the existence of the Palestinian people in the region and legitimize the actions of settlers. Hamas concluded its statement by calling Netanyahu’s presence at the UN General Assembly podium a “political mistake,” particularly in light of the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court, and demanded his prosecution before international justice.
