United Russia Dominates Duma Elections Securing 349 Seats

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, preliminary results from Russia‘s ninth State Duma elections indicate a sweeping victory for the United Russia party, which has secured 349 seats. The announcement was made by Ella Pamfilova, Chairwoman of the Central Election Commission of Russia, citing data from Sputnik News Agency, as reported by Mehr News Agency.

Other parties also saw their representation in the new Duma. The Communist Party of the Russian Federation obtained 37 seats, the Liberal Democratic Party secured 23 seats, the New People party won 19 seats, A Just Russia–Patriots–For Truth gained 17 seats, and the Rodina party secured one seat.

Pamfilova further stated that four independent candidates and 46 participants with prior service in the special military operation also succeeded in winning seats. The Central Election Commission of Russia reported an overall voter turnout of 59.8%, marking the highest participation rate seen in the country’s last three parliamentary election cycles.
