28% of Israeli Officers Resign Following Itamar Ben-Gvir’s Appointment

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz has reported that 28% of the occupation forces’ police officers have resigned since Itamar Ben-Gvir was appointed as the Internal Security Minister of occupied Jerusalem in December 2022. This data was released by the Mehr News Agency, citing the Anadolu Agency.

The newspaper announced that these figures were presented during closed-door meetings addressing the problem of human resource shortages within the Israeli regime’s police force.

Haaretz further indicated that while there has been an increase in police recruitment during Ben-Gvir’s tenure, more than a quarter of the new recruits have been assigned to the ‘Border Police’ or the so-called ‘Internal Security Guard,’ which operates under the regime’s Internal Security Ministry.

Despite recruitment efforts, the report highlights a persistent shortage of over 2,000 officers in police stations and the traffic police department of the Israeli regime.
